Cotignac is such a pretty village. There's so much going on in the summer months and so many good restaurants and just the best bakery! There's a market every Tuesday morning throughout the year (get there early in Summer in order to get a parking space!) where local produce and crafts and actually just about everything is sold. And during the summer there are markets almost daily - local crafts, antiques, speciality foods, night markets - they seem to have an endless list! Around and about there's a plethora of vineyards (of course!) all of which do pretty decent wine, some of which produce exceptional wine but which one you prefer will be a matter of taste! Some of the vineyards now have small tapas type restaurants which is just prefect for a lazy afternoon.

For those interested in more active pursuits the rivers and lakes locally offer stunning fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, gorge walking, sailing, pedalos and canoes. The closest river is about 20 minutes drive away and the closest lake point is about 30 minutes drive away. Driving anywhere in the area provides a beautiful backdrop to your holiday!

Cycling in the area is incredibly popular with amazing scenery and great hills to climb.

The coast is only an hour away by car. We're told it's magnificent, and the bits we've been to certainly are but we've not managed to explore much of the coast for ourselves yet!
